About the Role

Farmer Environmental Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to support and manage environmental consulting projects throughout Colorado and surrounding areas. Occasional travel to other states will be required.

This position will be responsible for managing environmental projects from initial client contact through project completion, including project planning, field investigations, technical report preparation and review, regulatory coordination, budgeting, scheduling, client communication, and oversight of field personnel and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental consulting with experience in areas such as asbestos-containing materials (ACM) surveys, indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations, lead-based paint, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, site characterization, and remediation projects
. Strong technical writing, project management, client relationship, and business development skills are highly desired.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, or a related science or technical field
  • Applicable Colorado asbestos certifications and accreditations
  • EPA-accredited Lead Inspector and/or Risk Assessor credentials preferred
  • Experience with mold assessments and indoor air quality investigations
  • Experience performing and/or managing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Strong technical report writing, review, and quality-control skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing environmental consulting projects, including budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations
  • Knowledge of applicable Colorado and federal environmental regulations, including asbestos, lead, environmental site assessment, and remediation requirements
  • Strong, verifiable professional references
  • Reliable transportation available for work-related travel; mileage expenses are reimbursed
  • Excellent attendance, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work overtime when project demands require, includes potential nights or weekends
  • Willingness to travel as needed, generally 40% or less
Desired Experience and Attributes
  • Background in construction, building maintenance, restoration, or a strong understanding of building systems and materials
  • Experience working within the Colorado environmental consulting market
  • Environmental consulting industry experience
  • Willingness to be cross-trained and expand technical capabilities
  • Experience managing complex, multidisciplinary environmental projects
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal environmental, asbestos, lead, and indoor environmental quality regulations, standards, and industry guidelines
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and coordinate technical and field staff
  • Strong client service and relationship-management skills
  • Ability to prepare proposals, develop project scopes, establish budgets, and manage projects for profitability
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take ownership of projects and client relationships

We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable taking initiative and being challenged. A successful history of managing projects, mentoring staff, developing client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities is highly desirable.

Travel will be required, primarily throughout Colorado and surrounding areas as project demands dictate. Farmer Environmental Group provided necessary company equipment and reimburses approved business travel expenses.
