Advanced Space | Full-time | Hybrid

We're going to the Moon. Think you've got what it takes?

About the Role

At Advanced Space, we're enabling humanity's return to the Moon and building the technologies that will take us to Mars and beyond. We're looking for a Systems Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to support a growing portfolio of space missions and projects.

In this role, you'll contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle, supporting mission formulation, requirements development, system architecture, integration, verification, validation, and mission operations. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to help turn mission concepts into reliable, flight-ready systems.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute to real space missions while working across spacecraft subsystems, including communications, Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS), propulsion, Fault Detection, Isolation & Recovery (FDIR), and Electrical Power Systems (EPS). You'll also support mission planning, technical trade studies, system integration and testing, and customer deliverables.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, thinks across the entire system rather than just one component, and wants to make a direct impact on missions that are flying – not just being imagined.

This position is open to U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents) only. Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.

About Advanced Space

Advanced Space exists to enable the sustainable exploration, development, and settlement of space through innovative software, mission services, and technology solutions. As the owner and operator of NASA's CAPSTONE™ mission and the Prime Contractor for AFRL's Oracle mission, we're helping shape the future of cislunar exploration while supporting commercial, civil, and national security customers.

Our team combines deep technical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset. We move quickly, collaborate across disciplines, and empower every engineer to make meaningful contributions. We are customer obsessed and mission focused; when we see it, we solve it; we are one team, motivated by our vision; and we bring technical excellence and inexhaustible curiosity.

If you're passionate about solving challenging problems and seeing your work fly in space, you'll fit right in.

Support system integration, verification, and testing.

Develop system integration and test plans and procedures, participate in test execution, and document results. Support system engineering milestone reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and other program reviews.

Contribute to spacecraft design and trade studies.

Participate in subsystem design activities and technical trade studies involving communications, GNC, ADCS, propulsion, FDIR, EPS, and other spacecraft subsystems. Help evaluate design options and understand their impacts on overall mission performance.

Define and manage system interfaces.

Support interface definition and development of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for spacecraft and ground systems. Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure interfaces are clearly defined and integrated across the system.

Collaborate across engineering teams and with customers.

Work closely with customers and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate technical information clearly and contribute to design discussions, reviews, presentations, and customer deliverables.

Support mission operations and future mission development.

Contribute to mission operations activities, including operational planning, anomaly resolution, and coordination with operations teams. Participate in mission concept studies and architecture development for future space missions.
