Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer

An advanced aerospace technology company developing high-reliability communication and embedded systems for defense and space applications is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with a strong software focus.

This role supports product lines with DoD applications and plays a key part in ensuring dependable, compliant, and mission-ready software across complex hardware-integrated platforms.

• Ensure compliance with customer, internal, and industry quality requirements (AS9100 and related standards)
• Drive root cause corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Serve as independent reviewer for software test plan creation and execution
• Execute and manage formal system and integration testing across embedded and RF-based platforms
• Document and communicate software defects clearly to support rapid resolution
• Build and manage test environments to validate features, milestones, and customer-specific configurations
• Conduct process and product audits across the software lifecycle
• Collaborate in Agile environments using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Docker, and Git Lab

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• 6+ years in Quality Assurance or software/system testing roles
• Experience conducting process and product audits
• Strong background in test execution, defect tracking, and dashboard/reporting tools
• Experience generating documentation aligned with AS9100 and industry standards
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and modern development tool chains
• Ability to manage priorities in fast-paced, technical environments

• Experience supporting DoD programs or high-reliability systems
• Knowledge of AS9100 / AS9115 standards
• Background in embedded software, Linux environments, or IP-based systems
• Experience with C, C++, or Python
• Familiarity with statistical analysis, Six Sigma, or structured root cause methodologies
