Overview
BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems (SMS) seeks a self-motivated and detail-oriented Material Proposal Coordinator to contribute to the Bill of Material Pricing Team in response to SMS Customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
This is an entry level position within Supply Chain that provides an opportunity to develop skill sets within the proposal process, specifically material pricing. The role includes requesting and entering quotes from suppliers, as well as reviewing and entering them into BAE Systems SMS pricing software. The duties also include verifying the Bill of Materials top 80% cost drivers and participating in cross-functional teams in Supply Chain Management.
A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to solicit and review supplier quotes to understand quote validity, price breaks, exception statements, and all costs associated with purchasing materials.

- Gain an understanding of the SMS proposal process as it relates to Bill of Materials (BOM) pricing.
- Request and receive quotes from suppliers; review quotes for accuracy and validity; populate Pricing Software.
- Become proficient in quote review and comprehension; review BOM cost drivers for accuracy.
- Learn the BAE Systems SMS Aerospace Material Proposal Pricing (MPP) tool.
- Coordinate with the proposal team regarding workload and deadlines.
- Manage Excel spreadsheets and report to the proposal team through various stages of the quoting process.
- Provide input, analysis, and support for annual additional quantities.
- Evaluate supplier proposals (may include Commercial Off the Shelf parts) and assist Category Specialists in quote entry and review.
- Review supplier pricing; interact with teams across the supply chain; participate in the proposal process.
- Request pricing from suppliers and analyze previous pricing versus current pricing.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and establish effective working relationships within the department and across business units.

- On-site work environment: regular in-person engagement on-site three or more days per week; travel between campuses may be required.
- Bachelor’s degree (related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education).
- Demonstrated experience working in a team while making individual contributions; attention to detail; excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience supporting local and virtual teams across locations; ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
- Willingness to pursue program-required clearance if applicable after offer acceptance.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Adobe Professional.
- Background in Supply Chain, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, IT, Computer Science, Project Management, or related fields.
