Responsibilities for Yard Worker:

Organize and maintain yard materials, including concrete ties, equipment, and tools

Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles

Operate forklifts and other machinery to move materials within the yard Perform routine yard maintenance such as cleaning, stacking, and organizing items

Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or issues to the supervisor

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols

Assist with other general labor tasks as needed

Can work varied shifts with changing seasons

Can work in a team in environment

Secure loads on top of railcars using load binders and chains

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent, preferred

Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or manufacturing setting is preferred

Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification preferred)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Basic understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs.) repeatedly

Stamina to stand, walk, and move throughout the yard for extended periods

Ability to bend, climb, stoop, squat, and reach overhead as needed

Capable of operating forklifts and other equipment, requiring good hand-eye coordination

Willingness to work in varied weather conditions

All employees are required to have steel toe boots and supplied PPE

Environmental Conditions:

Industrial/manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures

Must be able to work in hot temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter months.
