- Obtain and record client health history; perform comprehensive physical assessment.
- Diagnose, treat, and plan care for clients in school‑based, women’s, family‑planning, and primary care areas; refer to physicians or outside agencies as needed.
- Prescribe medications within specialty area.
- Perform laboratory procedures and interpret results.
- Provide case management services for selected clients.
- Conduct group, individual, and community education classes on birth control, STDs, and other health concerns.
- Maintain electronic medical records and other necessary documentation.
- Provide in‑service education to nursing staff.
- Perform other nursing duties as assigned.
- Assume general administrative duties such as fax, filing, and copying.
- Attend webinars, workshops, training, and meetings as requested.
- Perform special project research, data collection, analysis, and report preparation.

- Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, medical and lab equipment, and medication therapy.
- Proficient in interviewing and counseling techniques and total physical examination.

- Experience obtaining cultures, PAP smears, and other laboratory specimens.
- Skill in diagnostic procedures and drug therapy for medical conditions.
- Competency with medical and laboratory equipment.
Current California RN license, national certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or another national certifying body, and completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with minimum two years of clinical experience.
Language SkillsRead, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations; write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information to managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical SkillsCalculate figures including discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning AbilitySolve practical problems and handle variables in situations with limited standardization; interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
Work ConditionsLocal travel to other sites and occasional overnight stays for events. Workload may be demanding; requires professionalism and confidentiality.
Work EnvironmentThe noise level is usually moderate.
Physical DemandsRegular walking; use hands for handling; reach with arms; frequent standing; occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; frequent lifting of up to 15 pounds. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and ability to adjust focus.
