Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at Dunklau Gardens, a long‑term care, home health, hospice, and post‑acute short‑term skilled rehab facility in Fremont, NE.
LocationDunklau Gardens, 450E23rd St., Fremont, NE.
Typical Work Schedule- Casual/PRN 12‑hour shifts:
Day6am–6pm, Night6pm–6am - Shift as needed; days and hours may vary week to week.
- Support physicians and other providers in patient care, including rooming patients and communicating delays.
- Perform duties with enthusiasm, courtesy, and service orientation, anticipating provider needs.
- Operate within scope of practice as defined by licensure, nursing standards, and organizational policies.
- Perform routine and specialized nursing procedures per physician orders.
- Assist physicians with exams, treatments, and minor procedures; prepare patient rooms and attend during procedures.
- Record patient information in the medical chart: history, physical data, vital signs, symptoms, treatments, exams, administered meds.
- Apply infection control principles.
- Oversee laboratory services: equipment, CLIA compliance, quality controls.
- Ensure radiation safety standards are met in radiology (if needed).
- Schedule clinical staff according to protocols; manage provider workloads to ensure coverage.
- Order and stock clinic supplies, vaccines, and pharmaceuticals.
- Document daily clinical operations and report issues or concerns to supervisor promptly.
- Maintain staff clinical competencies.
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
Experience1–3years of health‑care experience preferred; new graduates considered.
License / Certifications- Current Nebraska LPN state license.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred; required within 3 months of hire.
- Knowledge of nursing practices, medications, charting, and equipment operation.
- Manual dexterity and ability to apply nursing principles.
- Effective oral and written communication with staff, patients, visitors, physicians, and departments.
- Adaptability to changing nursing practices.
- Positive patient relations when interacting with patients, staff, and the public.
- Medium weight handling (up to 50lbs).
- Climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, balancing, carrying, crouching, stepping/bending, twisting allowed as needed.
- Keyboarding/typing, running, reaching, seeing/visual, hearing, speaking/talking, standing, walking.
- Hazards: low electrical shock/ static, low radiation, occasional physical hazards (noise, temperature, wet floors, sharps), frequent chemical agents (toxic, corrosive, flammable, latex), biological agents, blood or body fluid contact.
