The Territory Manager at Halter plays a critical role in driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within a designated territory. The role requires a proactive, hands‑on approach focused on both expansion and long‑term customer satisfaction. You will execute sales strategies, build strong relationships, and meet ambitious growth targets while acting as Halter’s on‑the‑ground representative.
Day‑to‑Day Activities- Prospecting New Business:
Drive into the field, attend local cattle auctions, and meet with livestock associations to build a new business pipeline through outbound lead generation and timely response to inbound leads. - In‑Field Sales:
Meet potential customers on horseback or side‑by‑side, discuss how Halter’s technology benefits their operations, and manage logistical details such as coffee drop‑offs during calving season. - Expanding Existing Opportunities:
Identify opportunities to increase value for current customers, even when not all animals are collared, and pursue upsell and cross‑sell options. - Meeting Sales Targets:
Manage a pipeline, qualify leads, and close deals while maintaining focus on next‑month opportunities. - Customer Account Management:
Maintain relationships after the sale to ensure ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and address challenges. Safely hand off customers to onboarding and deployment teams. - Territory Ownership:
Own a full territory, visit every corner, and build relationships with stakeholders at local, state, and federal levels. - Customer Onboarding:
Own the end‑to‑end onboarding experience, ensuring smooth transition from sales to implementation. - Field Learnings & Feedback:
Act as the primary point of contact for customer insights and advocate for their needs within the company. - Collaborating with Support Teams:
Resolve customer issues quickly and ensure customers feel fully supported. - Attending Industry Events:
Generate leads and deepen relationships at events such as Cattle Con and local livestock associations. - Contributing to the US Sales Strategy:
Work with the broader team to optimize the sales process and share insights that drive greater efficiencies.
- Driven Attitude & Communication
Skills:
Results‑driven, motivated, and adaptable with strong communication abilities. - Ranching / Cattle
Experience:
Understanding of ranching or cattle operations and their unique challenges. - Sales & Customer Success Expertise:
Proven track record in creating new business, negotiating value‑based sales, and building lasting relationships. - Territory Management
Experience:
Managed a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology. - Problem‑Solving &
Collaboration:
Resourceful, quick‑thinking, and effective in cross‑functional teamwork. - Willingness to Travel:
Frequent travel within the territory to engage with customers and prospects.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
- Background in selling SaaS solutions in a B2B environment.
