Job Summary
Environmental Staff Scientist/Engineer/Geologist – Westminster, Colorado
We are seeking an experienced environmental professional to support the Environmental department in a full range of services, including Phase I/II ESAs, asbestos and lead‑based paint surveys, UST/LUST assessments, site remediation, soil/groundwater sampling, and more. The role involves fieldwork, technical report and proposal preparation, and occasional client and subcontractor coordination. Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
Responsibilities- Support all environmental services including Phase I/II ESAs, asbestos and lead‑based paint surveys, indoor air quality assessments, UST/LUST assessments, site remediation, soil and groundwater sampling, wetland surveys, and field observation documentation.
- Assist in scope development, report preparation, client and subcontractor coordination, and assessment of proper response actions.
- Manage and perform Environmental Site Assessments following applicable ASTM standards.
- Participate in the installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, remediation activities, waste management and disposal, and other field requirements using standard operating procedures.
- Author technical reports and proposals.
- Support project planning, monitoring, and budget control while building solid relationships with clients and team members.
- BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience with project management/coordination experience.
- Experience with soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, data evaluation, and report preparation.
- Experience managing field teams and drillers.
- Experience managing projects under regulatory programs such as VCUP, OPS, etc.
- Client communications and management experience.
- Detail‑oriented team player with excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and time and budget management skills.
- Computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one’s discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- P.E. / P.G. or ability to obtain within one year.
- Experience with vapor intrusion mitigation system design.
- Colorado OPS recognized environmental professional (CO‑REP).
- Colorado asbestos building inspector (CABI).
- Experience with SWPPP/SPCC plans and inspections.
Salary range: $70,000 to $95,000 (compensation based on experience, skill set, and qualifications).
