Schedule:

Schedule is at discretion of supervisor

Evaluation Procedures:
Student workers are evaluated on a continuous basis.

Scope:
Support Biology laboratory and stockroom duties.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in setting up and breaking down Biology laboratory activities especially for Principles of Biology and Microbiology.
• Assist in the preparation of laboratory materials such as solutions and various growth media.
• Assist in general management of the Biology stockroom including washing glassware (operating glassware washing machine), putting away equipment, maintenance of equipment and sterilization of microbiological waste.
• Assist in the maintenance of the chemical inventory for all departments on campus and the equipment inventory for the Biology Department.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate student at McDaniel College.
• Have Federal Work Study as part of a Financial Aid package.
• Strong high school background in biology and/or chemistry
• Biology or Chemistry majors preferred

Physical Characteristics:

• Ability to handle fragile equipment and glassware.
