Position Title: Sheet Metal Shop Journeyman FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Operations Date: 2026
Reports to: Field Manager/General Superintendent Location: Various Jobsites
Wage Range: $30 - $37/hr.

Job SummaryPerform sheet metal job assignments according to MTech Mechanical safety standards and guidelines, and within budgetary constraints.
Essential Job Functions- Meet all requirements of a 4 year apprentice.
- Use of all tools, equipment and skills necessary for the fabrication of fittings and duct for the HVAC industry based on SMACNA standards.
- Have the minimal tools as required by the company in his / her possession.
- Follow detailed instructions and achieve a high level of accuracy and quality in the fabrication process.
- Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of shop equipment and machinery.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding is a plus.
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining necessary licensing/certification for performing work in areas where such is required.
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of local / national codes and industry and fabrication standards.
- Support the total quality effort. Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time.
- Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy.
- Promote MTech business values and culture
- Promote proper use of company assets
- Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position
- Other duties as assigned.
- 4 year apprenticeship certificate or 4 years of field experience
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of sheet metal fabrication, metal gauges, layout procedures, material characteristics, differences between alloys and compatibilities.
- Working knowledge of all relevant national and local codes and company and industry standards.
- MIG welding and TIG welding certifications are a plus but not an immediate requirement.
- Reliable transportation to and from work required
