Pay: $30.00 – $50.60 per hour plus shift differential. Shift hours:
Monday – Friday 2:00 pm – 12:00 am. $3,000 sign‑on bonus and referral bonus opportunities (details given during interview).
- Prepare accurate and complete service reports and turn them in on time
- Prepare inspection and appraisal reports
- Correctly charge work to appropriate work order segments
- Communicate effectively with Service Writer, Shop Coordinators and Shop Managers regarding repair status
- Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components
- Prepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to delivery
- Remove, disassemble, assemble, and install components and parts
- Determine reusability of parts per Caterpillar guidelines
- Order replacement parts ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Service and maintain equipment sold or owned by the company
- Test, measure, and adjust engine and machine systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machine and engine malfunctions
- Analyze customer repair and maintenance requirements
- Stay current with developments in tooling, technology and systems
- Use safe working practices and follow all safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform maintenance on new and rebuilt/repaired equipment
- Recommend repairs meeting warranty criteria
- Make parts replacement decisions ensuring optimal economic reusability
- Other duties as assigned by manager
- Provide direction, training, mentoring and guidance to assigned service technicians
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair (preferred)
- 3+ years’ experience in heavy equipment, engine, or electric power generation system repair
- 1+ years of administrative/clerical experience
- 3+ years of customer service experience
- Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing, squatting/kneeling
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs
- Heavy work including lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds or more
- Data entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
- Basic computer data entry and typing service reports
- Noise: loud
- Indoors and outdoors
