ERS Elite is recruiting qualified military veterans and transitioning service members on behalf of participating Kia Retailers for the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP). VTAP provides experienced military mechanics and technicians an opportunity to transition their technical skills into a civilian career as a Kia Certified Service Technician.
Selected candidates are hired directly by a participating Kia Retailer and receive structured Kia training, hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities to earn Kia certifications while progressing toward a long-term career within the Kia dealer network.
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship located at a participating Kia Retailer in the Westminster/Denver, Colorado area.
The Automotive Service Technician Apprentice will apply prior military mechanical and maintenance experience while working alongside experienced Kia service technicians. Responsibilities may include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Kia vehicles, as well as performing work on engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, electrical systems, and other vehicle components.
Technicians will use diagnostic equipment and service information to identify vehicle concerns, perform inspections and preventative maintenance, document completed repairs, follow dealership and manufacturer safety procedures, and maintain a professional and productive work environment.
Through VTAP, the technician will receive Kia-specific training and progressively develop the knowledge and certifications required to advance to Kia Certified Service Technician.
Qualifications- U.S. military veteran or transitioning service member
- Minimum 3 years of military mechanical experience or civilian automotive technician experience
- Experience performing mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, or repair
- Honorable discharge or anticipated honorable discharge
- Ability to work full-time in an automotive dealership/service environment
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to complete Kia training and certification requirements
- Valid driver's license preferred/required based on retailer requirements
- Full-time employment with a participating Kia Retailer
