How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:

As a Y Housekeeping Associate you will perform regular janitorial duties to ensure the cleanliness of Y wellness center. As a Y Housekeeping Associate you’ll contribute to the Y and to the larger community we serve by enhancing the Y member experience, making the Y an enjoyable and meaningful part of their lives.

This work is right for you if you have:

  • An enthusiastic love for people of all ages, patience, good judgment and a good spirit
  • The ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • The ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner, including ability to read labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions
  • The ability to stay alert to potential safety and security problems
  • The ability to carry out instructions independently
  • Previous related experience (preferred)

All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people. It emphasizes treating youth with respect and fairness, avoiding inappropriate physical or verbal interactions, and adhering to established standards of affection. The policy strictly prohibits any form of abuse, bullying, or harassment and mandates the reporting of suspected mistreatment.

Additionally, associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.
