Overview
Spring Valley Golf Club is an 18-hole course located in Elizabeth, CO about 15 minutes east of the Town of Parker. In business for over 25 years, it is both a membership golf club and open to the public. Situated inside the golf club is Bluebird Bar & Grill, serving lunch and dinner daily, with a 3,500 square foot ballroom on the 1st level for weddings and special events.
The ideal candidate is someone who understands the opportunity presented to them with an already established golf club, but an exponentially growing community. Spring Valley Community is to receive an additional 3,500 homes in the next 2-5 years on its doorstep. With SVGC the only public golf course in the 20-minute vicinity, the potential is enormous for an ambitious Assistant Golf Professional.
The individual we are looking for is willing to challenge him/herself, strives to go above and beyond what's expected, and is financially minded towards the operation he or she runs.
- Actively pursue PGA Membership in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf Management Program
- Level 1 PGA Qualified or Level 1
- Attention to detail
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations, league and tournament operations
- Fundamental supervisory practices and principles
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market
- Excellent service and customer focused attitude
- Experience in written, computer, and oral business communications
This person will help manage the staff and represent the golf operation in the absence of the Head Golf Professional. Assistant Professionals will be accountable for the management of all areas of the golf operation on a day-to-day basis and reporting all necessary items to the Head Golf Professional. The areas of accountability include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in day-to-day operations and supervision of golf operations, and member services staff, while providing the highest levels of service and professionalism
- Develop, motivate, and manage staff to provide consistently superior levels of service, friendliness, and cleanliness
- Knowledgeable in computer systems (Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Golf Genius Tournament Software , GHIN, and online booking agents.
- Assist in all components of the merchandising cycle
- Teach individual lessons and clinics
- Assist with the Junior Golf Program
- Play with and establish relationships with Pass holders
- Maintain golf skills at a respectable level
- Training of new staff members as directed by the Head Professional
- Will conduct themselves in a manner consistent with Club Policies and team principles
