The Sport Supervisor position is responsible for observing and monitoring sports leagues and keeping accurate league records. This position also provides routine field preparation and maintenance. Recreation staff have the primary responsibility of ensuring the safety of program participants.
The availability of work hours for this position will be determined by one or more of the following factors: program length, weather, and budget. Hours for this position will generally be Monday through Friday from 5:45 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and Sundays from 1:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate.

- Monitor participants and activities in indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
- Keep score and other statistical data according to the rules of the game.
- Assist with field preparation, set‑up and break‑down of equipment.
- Perform minor maintenance, cleaning and inventory of recreation equipment.
- Assist with maintaining safety and discipline in recreation areas.
- Provide excellent guest service to participants, officials, and spectators.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Incumbent is accountable for all duties of this job, and other projects and responsibilities may be added at the City’s discretion.
Required Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- First Aid, CPR and AED certification within 30 days of hire.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
Physical RequirementsThis position requires a moderate degree of physical stamina and strength, including the ability to:
- Frequently sit, stand and walk through a multi‑level facility.
- Occasionally squat, bend, kneel, twist, climb, balance and reach over head.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Frequently use hands and fingers for fine manipulation; occasionally use light and firm grasp.
- Frequently see objects up close to perform office tasks and far away to observe activity for safety hazards or problems.
