Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • More than one year of experience in receiving.
  • Experience with oversized trucks, vans, forklifts and floor jacks desired.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must wear steel-toed boots.
  • Ability to operate oversized trucks and equipment to perform duties.
  • Ability to assemble new furniture.
  • Ability to check orders for quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to move furniture or equipment for delivery or pick up.
  • Ability to anticipate potential hazards.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve.
  • English language skills, bilingual desired.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Personal computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel in a positive and cooperative manner.
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret policies and procedures, laws, rules and instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to pass various pre-employment background screenings.
  • Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, building and department procedures.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Valid Colorado driver's license.
  • BOCES Safety Training Certificate required within 60 days of hire.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain communications by:
    • Meeting with supervisor and/or District staff, e.g., projects, District needs.
    • Being accessible via District communication devices.
    • Responding to requests submitted electronically.
  • Manage District resources by:
    • Pulling, filing, packaging, and setting up orders for delivery or pickup.
    • Loading and unloading trucks for deliveries, e.g., pallets, semi-trucks.
    • Delivering/retrieving materials to facilities, e.g., perishables, furniture, bulk items, mail.
    • Assembling products, e.g. furniture, kitchen equipment.
    • Recycling of outdated and/or damaged materials from warehouse inventory, e.g., textbooks, furniture.
  • Maintain District resources by:
    • Receiving/processing materials and accurately recording warehouse inventory.
    • Coding materials, e.g., barcode text books, food item lot number, fixed assets.
    • Rotating dated materials.
    • Moving and/or replacing assets throughout facilities, e.g., classroom/office moves.
  • Maintain District Safety by:
    • Adhering to District guidelines and procedures.
    • Complying with federal, state and local codes and regulations, e.g. OSHA guidelines, safe food procedures.
    • Abiding by procedures for operating equipment, e.g. forklift, electrical jack.
    • Ensuring proper functionality of assigned vehicle.
    • Participating in required professional development.
  • Provide services to the District by:
    • Completing work orders as received.
