Job Summary
The Program Coordinator, Healthcare Workforce Education is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of workforce education programs that meet local and regional workforce needs, with a primary focus on healthcare career training and allied health workforce development. This position collaborates with healthcare employers, industry partners, instructors, students, and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality educational experiences that support career development, credential attainment, and employment outcomes.
It reports to the Director, Career Pathways and Apprenticeships.
- Develops, launches, coordinates, and manages workforce education and training programs aligned with industry trends, workforce demands, and community needs.
- Uses labor market data, industry research, stakeholder feedback, and workforce forecasts to identify emerging opportunities for new programs and program enhancements.
- Coordinates scheduling, logistics, enrollment processes, and program operations to ensure efficient delivery of workforce training programs.
- Provides student support, advising, and guidance throughout the enrollment and training process and assists in resolving student concerns.
- Recruits, selects, onboards, supports, and provides ongoing oversight of instructors and subject matter experts to ensure instructional quality, compliance with program requirements, and positive student outcomes.
- Maintains program records, documentation, and reports in compliance with institutional, state, federal, accreditation, grant, and/or industry requirements.
- Prepares reports and documentation required for institutional planning, regulatory compliance, performance metrics, and program evaluation.
- Analyzes enrollment, completion, retention, credential attainment, employment, and financial data to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Tracks annual program costs and monitors revenue and expenditures to ensure financial sustainability and achievement of departmental goals.
- Makes recommendations regarding pricing, instructor compensation, equipment purchases, and resource allocation.
- Collaborates with marketing staff and external partners to promote workforce training opportunities and increase community awareness.
- Monitors program requirements and industry trends related to healthcare credentials, certifications, clinical experiences, regulatory requirements, and workforce demand.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with healthcare employers, clinical sites, industry associations, government agencies, community organizations and educational institutions to support workforce development initiatives.
- Coordinates and monitors workforce training delivered at off-site and clinical locations, including establishing collaborative agreements, conducting site visits, and ensuring compliance with program standards and instructional expectations.
- Continuously evaluates program effectiveness and recommends improvements based on data, participant feedback, and industry trends.
- Serves as a liaison among students, faculty, employers, workforce partners, and college departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and six years of progressively responsible experience in workforce development, training, education, business, industry, or a related field
- Associate degree and four years of progressively responsible experience in workforce development, training, education, business, industry, or a related field
