Responsibilities- Assist in designing new products and implementing engineering change notices.
- Work with Engineers and Document Control to complete and release 3‑D models and drawings.
- Support engineering design of components and assemblies for mass transit applications.
- Create 3‑D models, drawings, and release documentation for components, assemblies, modules, and other safety devices.
- Develop manufacturing drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams in accordance with applicable standards.
- Generate cost reduction ideas, sketches/drawings and feasibility investigations.
- Perform tolerance stack‑up studies and check layouts.
- Perform PDM database entry & incorporate engineering changes (ECN) to drawings.
- Perform product changes and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Coordinate work with engineers, other designers, technicians, manufacturing, suppliers and customers in the support of existing products.
- Support the development of new products.
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure compliance with company rules and policies.
- Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines and regulations. Be energy conscious, if applicable.
- Must understand and comply with applicable standards (ISO 9001, ISO 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, AAR, and CMMI).
- Maintain and safeguard business records. Additional essential functions: reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, CAD assembly, and CAD drawing creation tools.
- Proficient in Creo 2.0 / Windchill and AutoCAD.
- Knowledgeable in GD&T (ASME Y14.5M – 1994/2009).
- Stack‑up analysis experience to ensure proper assembly and performance repeatability.
- Knowledgeable in CAD & design standards/procedures/CAD data translations.
- Knowledgeable in PDM (Product Data Management) and engineering document control/release processes.
- Design experience and familiarity with general manufacturing principles; sheet metal design, machining, and material selection.
- Value engineering/value analysis skills & experience is a plus.
- Technical capacity.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Self‑starter with a strong sense of urgency, creativity, and confidence to achieve quality results quickly and on schedule.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- PC skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required).
- Demonstrated history of project involvement from concept to production.
- Strong organization and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong time management skills.
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Westminster is $56,900 to $85,300 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education.
