Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division is currently seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager. This role is based at our Westminster, MD facility. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates within the hiring country.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 - $143,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What You’ll Do- Manage the compliance with safety, health and environmental policies of the Westminster, MD facility.
- Manage project priorities and completion with Engineering and Maintenance for projects compliant with EHS needs and facility expectations.
- Manage relationship with the Security Team regarding safety of the facility.
- Lead the Hazardous Materials Team, Safety Team, Emergency Response Team, Powerhouse and EMS Committee.
- Drive continuous improvement of world‑class EHS Management Systems that help us move further along the path towards zero injuries.
- Oversee safety, health and environmental policies of the plant in conjunction with Eaton Corporation guidelines, ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
- Manage the relationship with the Security Team of the Westminster, MD facility regarding its safety.
- Develop short‑ and long‑term goals for EHS risk management at the plant.
- Manage the OSHA employee and community Right‑to‑Know program with Human Resources.
- Prepare required air, water, and land disposal applications for operational permits from federal, state, and local authorities.
- Act as Environmental Management Representative, leading and managing the Environmental Management System in accordance with the EMS Manual and ISO‑14001 requirements.
- Develop and manage ergonomic initiatives to ensure ongoing assessments, evaluations, and continuous improvement to reduce work/job‑related trauma while complying with production requirements.
- Design and implement training programs required by federal and state EPA, ISO‑14001, and OSHA regulations.
- Provide direction to plant management on EHS budgets and policies, including contributions to capital projects.
- Supply analytical support to manufacturing operations, including leading process change implementation related to work/job design.
- Consult on an as‑needed basis with Eaton Corporate legal, EHS professional associates/organizations, and other divisional plants on EHS matters.
- Manage plant hazardous waste compliance and wastewater treatment programs.
- Monitor plant compliance with government EHS filings and ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Assist plant in development of manufacturing processes using lean concepts.
- Manage the fire protection program for the facility in conjunction with landlord.
- Lead and contribute to capital projects.
- Manage WC‑related injuries/illnesses, focusing on workplace safety prevention and ergonomics program, while utilizing and enhancing light‑duty program. Coordinate with third‑party WC administrator.
- Address unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards in your work area(s) and evaluate ensuing corrections.
- Support all EHS functions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local medical authorities on matters of mutual concern, including OSHA reporting and Eaton internal requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years experience working in EHS or related discipline within a manufacturing environment.

- Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or Environmental Science.
- Professional certifications as appropriate.
- OSHA 10‑hour certification.
- Experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Experience in the environmental, occupational health and safety field.
