Role Description

The Professional Land Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Westminster, MD. This position is responsible for conducting field surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys, using total station and related surveying equipment. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and verifying site data, preparing survey plats and reports, reviewing deed and record information, and coordinating with engineering and planning teams. The role involves overseeing field crews, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and communicating clearly with project managers and clients about survey findings and project requirements.

The Professional Land Surveyor will also assist with project scheduling, resolving site measurement issues, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in Land Surveying and Surveying practices, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
  • Proficiency with Topographic Surveys and Building Surveying to support design, engineering, and planning projects.
  • Hands-on experience operating Total Station and other modern surveying instruments and data collection tools.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Maryland.
  • Working knowledge of survey software, CAD platforms, and GIS tools for data processing and mapping.
  • Ability to interpret plats, deeds, legal descriptions, and construction plans with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to lead or collaborate with field and office teams.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to work outdoors in varying field conditions.
  • Relevant education in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
