As a Finance Intern, you will support various activities of the Department of the Comptroller, including performing calculations, reviewing documents for accuracy, and entering information into the financial management system. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who is interested in learning about county government.
Essential Duties- Assist with audit, including preparing year-end financial statement schedules and worksheets.
- Assist with Accounts Payable processing and vendor files.
- Assist with financial system training materials and implementation for system users.
- Review budget for accuracy. Assist with uploading into financial management system.
- Assist with reconciling bank statements, ledgers, reports, financial records, revenues, expenditures, and preparation of adjusting entries.
- Prepare and enter journal entries in the financial management system to close out completed capital projects.
- Perform recordation tax collection reconciliation. Calculate various tax credits.
- Post tax and utility bill payments to collection system.
- Assist with calculating payroll accruals.
- Provide assistance with various activities of the Department of the Comptroller.
- Complete assigned work in a timely fashion. Accept feedback.

- This internship is a summer placement, which will run from May to August, or as agreed upon by the manager and intern.
