The Manufacturing Engineer, under the direction of the Production Manager, ensures all production activity within Merak is performed safely and efficiently by providing the necessary tooling, technology, and traceable processes to support Merak profitability and sustained growth.
Essential Functions- Designs and implements effective tooling and devices with emphasis on safety and reliability.
- Provides and maintains operation instructions for equipment and processes via the SAP routing module or TWI’s.
- Evaluates and improves manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors.
- Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements.
- Researches, designs, modifies, and tests manufacturing methods and equipment; confers with equipment vendors.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Ensures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Develops, investigates and implements cost reduction efforts and related activities to reduce product and operating costs; recommends material and design modifications for cost or quality improvements.
- Fosters safety and efficiency via lean manufacturing principles.
- Follows instructions and safety & environmental rules; documents, implements, and manages capital expense endeavors.
- Engages in special projects related to new contract demands.
- Acts as Team Lead for ME Department.

Benefits and Employment DetailsThe anticipated salary range for Westminster, MD is $75,900 to $113,900 per year. Final pay depends on factors such as experience, education, and industry. Eligible employees may enroll in group health plans, 401(k), vacation and personal time off, holidays, and other benefits as described in plan documents.
