Position SummaryThe Material Planner manages production and material flow through the segment’s work centers to ensure schedule adherence to the Master Production Schedule. Data in several system modules, including the capacity requirements plan, data integrity of work orders, work order maintenance, work center maintenance, dispatch control, lead times, and lot sizes, must be managed daily to support this objective.
Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and lead the Material Requirements Plan (MRP)/Production strategy to meet the S&OP Production Schedule and customer orders for manufactured material.
- Lead on-time customer order and supplier delivery fulfillment KPIs while meeting inventory turns targets using Supply Chain Excellence policies (SCE).
- Maintain systems daily, including production schedules, floor stock, WIP inventory transactions, scrap transactions, ECN management, COGI errors, and kanban/control cycles.
- Provide management with measurements that define our position to the MPS and MRP, including reporting past due hours, anticipated delays, and tooling or support problems.
- Ensure a smooth flow of production that optimizes cost, quality, schedule adherence, and productivity of the non-exempt workforce.
- Interact daily with Sales/Demand Planning for customer order fulfillment.
- Provide support to colleagues as directed and perform any other duties as requested.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment and ensure compliance with company rules and policies.
- Comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines, and regulations. Be energy conscious where applicable.
- Understand and comply with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and CMMI).
- Maintain and safeguard business records.
- Global knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems, including module interfaces.
- SAP system knowledge is strongly preferred with understanding of shop floor control, CRP, MPS, and MRP modules.

- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5+ years relevant experience
- Office environment with computer usage
- Primarily operates in a climate-controlled, shop floor production environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- 5 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment
- APICS certification

The anticipated salary range for Westminster, MD is $65,100 to $97,700 per year. Final pay depends on factors including experience, industry background, and education. Westminster Merak RAIL is a multi-state employer; this pay scale may not reflect positions in other states or locations. Benefits include group healthcare plans, 401k with company match, vacation, holidays, and other eligible programs as described in plan documents.
