Job Category:
Hourly, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Works moderately independent with minimal supervision.
- Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during and following production.
- Test driving vehicles.
- Perform battery function testing.
- Perform new vehicle intake inspections.
- Repair and replacement of parts and components on vehicles brought in for follow up work.
- Complete and process work orders via computer access.
- Complete and accurate communication with Plant Supervisors.
- Make recommendations for improving processes.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
- Follow established safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications Requirements & Qualifications Education- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical education in Manufacturing, Quality, Mechanical Technology, Welding, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
- Experience inspecting fabricated metal components strongly preferred.
- Experience in welding, fabrication, machining, powder coating, automotive, commercial truck or bus manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of dimensional inspection techniques.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including:
- Tape measures
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Combination squares
- Height gauges
- Thread gauges
- Angle measurement tools
- Working knowledge of welding processes including MIG and TIG preferred.
- Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes including press break, laser cutting, CNC, forming, welding, and powder coating.
- Experience using ERP systems and electronic work orders preferred.
- Attention to Detail:
High focus required to spot minute flaws, operational deviations and nonconforming materials. - Technical Proficiency:
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. - Mathematical and Mechanical Aptitude:
Strong basic math and mechanical skills for calibrating tools and calculating precise measurements along with solid understanding of manufacturing tolerances and quality standards. - Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Forklift certification preferred or ability to become certified upon hire.
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) (desirable)
- Six Sigma (desirable)
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier materials with assistance.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to welding operations, powder coating, industrial noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely operate inspection equipment and wear required PPE.
