TITLE: Kids Ministry Coordinator

REPORTING: Family Ministries Director

STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Kids Ministry Coordinator leads childhood discipleship and family ministry at the campus level by helping create a space where kids feel known, safe, and excited to learn who Jesus is in a way that sticks. This role focuses on relational volunteer leader development, behind-the-scenes administrative organization, and equipping parents to act as the primary disciple rs of their children throughout the week.

Through Sunday leadership and intentional volunteer care, this role ensures weekends run smoothly, leaders feel supported and developed, and families are warmly welcomed into a thriving, mission‑aligned discipleship pathway.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reproduce Culture – Embrace and replicate Crossroads’ culture within all kids ministry environments. Hold self and volunteers accountable with attitudes and interactions that reflect our core values.
  • Cultivate Volunteer Leadership – Recruit, onboard, and schedule volunteers using Crossroads systems and processes. Build relationships with your team by meeting regularly to encourage, support, and celebrate them. Help volunteers feel confident by equipping them with clear expectations and best practices. Ensure each classroom is fully staffed and set up for success each weekend, and step in to problem‑solve when last‑minute needs or gaps arise.
  • Kids Connection & Caregiver Engagement – Be a warm, relational presence for families, especially those who are new, helping them feel comfortable, confident, and cared for from their first visit. Communicate clearly about what kids are learning, execute relational first‑time family follow‑up, and manage ongoing engagement. Communicate upcoming events and invite the nextstep opportunities. Support kids and parents or caregivers in taking meaningful next steps in their faith journey, helping grow the ministry by building trust, strengthening relationships, and inviting others into serving.

    Partner intentionally with parents to equip them as the primary spiritual leaders of their children.
  • Execute initiatives and Events – Partner with the Family Director to plan and execute campus‑specific events (child dedications, seasonal events, parent gatherings, volunteer appreciation, etc.). Help bring these moments to life through strong organization, communication, and volunteer coordination to reflect our heart and mission.
  • Collaboration & Alignment – Work closely with your Campus Team to stay connected to the life of your campus. Partner with the Family Ministry Director for support, feedback, and ongoing development. Maintain strict alignment with Crossroads Kids systems, curriculum, safety standards, and volunteer processes, participating in regular check‑ins and team rhythms to stay connected and supported.

    • Strong leadership development, volunteer management, and team‑building capabilities, including a passion for equipping adult and youth volunteers.
