Nurse Intern-Med Surg
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Intern utilizes the skills gained in a Nursing Program to assist the RN in the care of selected patients. She/he is accountable to the basic standards of practice as defined in the performance standards. The Nursing Intern observes and obtains information and reports significant findings to the RN to ensure appropriate care is provided to neonates, pediatrics, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
She/he participates as a member of the patient care team following completion of a formalized orientation program. The Nursing Intern ensures the quality of services rendered by the Nursing Department as it responds to the needs of its customers in accordance with the Hospital's mission statement and SPIRIT values.
Requirements:
- Preferred High School Diploma Currently enrolled in an accredited academic RN program leading to a diploma, Associate degree or baccalaureate degree program
- Less than 2 years Completion of at least 2 clinical rotations (RN) in an acute care setting. In addition, knowledge of aseptic technique, wound care, patient safety, and patient transport techniques. Required
- CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
