Overview

Of Responsibilities
  • Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Meat & Seafood team.
  • Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
  • Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive.
  • Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Meat & Seafood team.
  • Maintain weekly ad items and assist with inventory and ordering; enforce and follow department practices regarding receiving, stocking, and unloading product to ensure freshness and quality; perform “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.
  • Unload and sort store deliveries, operate and maintain meat & seafood equipment.
  • Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, and validate that team members are aware of and following these procedures.

Qualifications
  • At least 18 years old and basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience, proven leadership experience, and 2‑3 years of grocery retail experience in meat department processes and procedures is highly preferred.
  • Dependable, reliable, and able to perform related duties as assigned.
  • Outgoing, friendly behavior; positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
  • Work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good communication skills; ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
  • Perform general housekeeping: clean and sanitize work area including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and weights & measures regulations.
  • Capable of standing for up to 4 hours continuously, total of 8 hours per shift; walk up to 2 miles per shift.
  • Work inside a temperature‑controlled area; perform general housekeeping.
  • Good vision required for operating knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
  • Lift/carry products between 25 to 90 lbs, from 4” to 60”, up to 10 feet for 20 hours; use pallet jack up to 500 lbs and up to 100 feet for 5 hours; move racks up to 70 lbs up to 50 feet for 10 hours; move tables up to 70 lbs up to 2 feet for 1 hour.
Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $17.90 – $26.70 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
