GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Prestige Beauty Advisor (PBA) is responsible for maximizing sales in the prestige category—color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance—by engaging guests to determine their individual needs and assisting with the selection and purchase of merchandise. The role maintains overall store standards, including cleanliness and replenishment, and supports the Sales Manager through performance, people, and process focus.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions)

Performance

  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, retail shrink, omni‑channel sales, with a focus on prestige category and iconic brands.
  • Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, recommending complementary products, and informing guests of promotions, events, and services.
  • Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
  • Book appointments and support execution of services and in‑store events to deliver a superior guest experience while meeting sales goals.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services, and be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits.
  • Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

People

  • Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and internal and external guests.
  • Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
  • Regularly participate in ongoing training, including prestige and iconic brand product training, brand and category education, to enable continuous professional development and drive sales performance.

Process

  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Adhere to the dress code.
  • Maintain replenishment, signage, and facekeeping of the prestige aisle, and ensure testers are available and meet hygiene standards.
  • Maintain outstanding store operational standards—including cleanliness of sales floor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area—and uphold makeover station standards.
  • Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing using company technology and best practices.
  • Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the company app.
  • Protect company assets through loss prevention best practices and exceptional guest service.
  • Execute other operational tasks as directed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Cosmetology, esthetician, or demonstrator’s license where required by state law.
Experience
  • 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Skills
  • Demonstrates passion and significant competency in prestige product, guest service, and selling.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
Special

Position Requirements
  • Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Attend corporate business meetings and conferences, including overnight stays.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent mobility throughout the store during shift.
  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and twisting during shift.
  • Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs during shift.
  • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.

Pay range: $15.50 – $21.00 / hour. Exact pay will be based on qualifications, experience, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime pay as required by law. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part‑time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
