Job Summary
Under limited supervision, assists in the implementation of the Hospital's security programs. Maintains the security of Hospital associates, visitors, patients, buildings, grounds, and equipment. Enforces parking regulations on the Hospital Campus. Provides assistance in handling combative and unruly patients, visitors, and staff. Must intervene with physically aggressive individuals, preferring the least restrictive measures and using force only when absolutely necessary. Performs shift duties as circumstances, situations, scheduling, and staff levels require.
Conducts foot patrols of both interior and exterior of the Hospital buildings, motorized patrols of the parking areas and grounds including Hospice, and provides escorts and vehicle assistance. Performs security duties during special events such as the Fireworks Detail on Independence Day or other fireworks dates. Considers age‑related factors when communicating with patients and implementing emergency procedures. Provides first line supervisory capabilities within the Life Bridge Health Security Department;
in the director’s absence, acts as shift supervisor, scheduling staff, training, evaluating performance, coordinating duties, conducting briefings, approving incident reports, inspecting uniforms, and handling other duties.

- Enforce parking regulations on campus.
- Handle combative/unruly individuals, using the least restrictive measures.
- Perform foot and motorized patrols in all hospital areas.
- Escort individuals and vehicles as needed.
- Carry out security duties during special events and fireworks details.
- Consider age‑related factors in patient communication and emergency procedures.
- Act as shift supervisor in absence of director: schedule staff, train, evaluate, brief, approve reports, inspect uniforms, and coordinate duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred associate’s degree or equivalent specialized knowledge.
- Minimum of 1 year (3+ years preferred) of law‑enforcement, corrections, security, EMS, or IAHSS certified officer (Basic Level) experience; must attain certification within 1 year.
- CPR – AHA Healthcare Provider certification.
- IAHSS Supervisory certification.
- Respond promptly to emergent incidents involving unruly patients/visitors/staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills (written and oral).
