Overview
Automotive Technician Mechanic — We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently disassembling vehicles in preparation for modification or repair. This position requires a high level of precision, care, and mechanical understanding to ensure all OEM components are preserved and vehicle systems are properly handled.
Responsibilities- Inspect vehicles for OEM or transport damage prior to teardown, including:
- Running diagnostic codes to confirm no electrical issues
- Inspecting body and frame for damage
- Safely purge vehicle fluids such as coolant, fuel, and brake fluid
- Use an AC machine to reclaim engine freon
- Carefully remove OEM plastics, seats, and interior components without damage
- Remove exhaust systems, brake/coolant/fuel lines
- Secure and stow electrical harnesses for future reuse
- Prepare the vehicle for welding by hanging tarps and foil shielding
- Disconnect and remove rear suspension and tires
- Cut and remove the vehicle floor and grind away welds as required

Qualifications Ideal Candidate Will Possess- Familiarity with tools such as:
- Sockets, ratchets, wrenches
- Cordless and pneumatic impact tools
- Multi-tools, grinders, and powered saws
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
- Willingness to use (or learn to use) Wi-Tech tablets for diagnosing OEM electrical systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more as needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of how vehicles function mechanically
- Comfortable working in loud environments and using power tools for extended periods
- Detail oriented.
- Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications).
- Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions).
- Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills).
