Master Electrician

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment systems, including isolating malfunctioning components.
  • Perform repairs and routine preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and update all process documentation related to electrical systems, equipment configurations, and maintenance activities.
  • Support equipment modifications for process changes, new product models, and expansion projects, ensuring electrical systems meet operational requirements.
  • Install, program, calibrate, and monitor Variable Frequency Drives, instruments, and related control systems.
  • Monitor PLC processor operations and take action as directed or required to maintain proper system performance.
  • Support equipment and operations necessary to comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure all equipment remains in safe working condition and consistently apply Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics, diagrams, and electrical drawings, including conduit bending and installation.
  • Work with PLC logic and programs to identify issues, make adjustments, and improve system functionality.
  • Apply knowledge of AC and DC motor controls to maintain, repair, and optimize motor-driven equipment.
  • Use test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, oscilloscopes, and high-voltage proximity testers to evaluate electrical systems and components.
  • Adhere strictly to OSHA safety procedures and applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Support crane drives and controls, high-voltage switch gear, and transformer systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and support continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

  • Experience as an industrial or master electrician working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting for industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting all phases of electrical circuitry, including high-voltage systems.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, including PLC troubleshooting, logic, and program work.
  • Ability to install, program, calibrate, and monitor Variable Frequency Drives and related control systems.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC motor controls and their application in industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Experience with conduit installation and conduit bending in industrial settings.
  • Competence in using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, oscilloscopes, and high-voltage proximity testers.
  • Understanding of grounding and shielding requirements for industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with crane drives and controls and high-voltage switch gear.
  • Knowledge of transformers, including design, purpose, and application.
  • Working knowledge of equipment Lock-Out Tag-Out requirements and procedures.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC and NFPA.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

This is a permanent position based out of Westminster, MD 21157.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $87360.00 - $89440.00/yr.
