Job Description and ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
Transports children in company vehicles maintaining their safety at all times. Follow established routes, schedules, and procedures. Ensures the vehicle is properly cleaned, maintained, and serviced. Ensures Celebree mission, vision, and values are upheld. Maintains a safe and violation free driving record.
Valid driver’s license: must be 21 years of age (may differ depending on insurance carrier). Ability to effectively manage a mini-bus full of children; excellent communication skills; patience and flexibility. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
Essential Functions- Assists children into and out of the bus; ensures seat belts are fastened and child safety seats are in place and in good operating condition.
- Follows established routes, schedules and procedures ensuring the safety of children at all times.
- Ensures the children are picked up and delivered with their safety as a primary focus.
- Ensures that children are not left unsupervised within or outside of the vehicle.
- Ensures Celebree vehicle policies and federal, state, and local ordinances regulating road safety are met.
- Confirms at every drop off/ pick up that every child is present by performing face to name counts.
- Performs a full review of the bus to ensure no items or children are left unaccounted for.
- Ensures all field trips and transportation policies are met.
- Maintains the safe operating condition and cleanliness of the vehicle, reporting any problems to the School Director; ensures the vehicle is regularly serviced.
- Sets an example to children by using appropriate language, social skills, etc.
- Adapts to schedule changes as required.
- Interacts with children in a friendly and supportive manner using children’s names with appropriate tone of voice.
- Attends all team meetings, trainings and School events as requested; limits unscheduled absences.
- Presents a positive and professional image at all times adhering to uniform requirements.
- Interacts with and assists parents in a positive, friendly manner; greets parents by name.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding families, co-workers, and self.
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting and carrying; ability to lift 50 pounds.
Education/ExperienceMinimum of five years driving experience.
