Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in preparing accurate financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and organizational skills to effectively collaborate with team members and contribute to the company's success.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with department leaders to ensure accuracy and completeness in financial reporting activities.

- Assist in the preparation and timely distribution of financial statements.

- Generate financial statements and accompanying schedules in accordance with the monthly closing process.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity.

- Prepare corporate tax returns and sales tax filings in compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Record journal entries and perform adjustments as needed for accurate financial reporting.

- Analyze and review accounting data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

- Support audits by preparing required documentation and responding to inquiries.

- Utilize advanced accounting systems such as Oracle, Sage, Net Suite, or Workday to manage financial operations efficiently.

Salary is $65,000-$75,000

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited U.S. institution.

- Proven experience working within multiple industries.

- Hands-on experience with advanced accounting systems such as Oracle, Sage, Yardi, Net Suite, or Workday (Quick Books-only experience will not suffice).

- Strong understanding of corporate tax and sales tax principles.

- Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and handling tax-related documentation.

- Ability to manage journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.

- Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

- Effective communication and organizational skills to collaborate across departments.
