Cost Accountant to join County Prestress in Westmont, IL.
The Cost Account antis responsible for analyzing, tracking, and reporting all manufacturing costs to support operational efficiency and financial accuracy. The Cost Accountant partners closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams toprovidecost insights,identify variances, support budgeting and forecasting, and recommend process improvements. This position ensures that cost accounting practices align with GAAP and internal controls, helping leadership make data-driven decisions tooptimizeprofitability within the manufacturing environment.
JobDuties & Responsibilities:
- Perform job cost accounting asrequiredfor specific product lines and special projects
- Track and analyze job-related costs,including labor, materials, and overhead
- Prepare and post journal entriesin accordance withGAAP and company policies
- Compilemonthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Substantiate financial transactions through communication and collaboration with internal team members
- Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls and accounting procedures
- Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned by the Divisional
Controller. - Partner and collaborate with division leaders.

Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Accounting required,bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- 2-4 years of accounting or related experience
- Prior experience with job costing or cost accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products with advanced knowledge and use of Excel
- Strong mathematical, analytical, andproblem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive,self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with apositive attitude and strong attention to detail
- Work is typically performed indoors.
- Sitting frequently
- Carrying/Lifting 10 - 40 Pounds rarely
- Standing / Walking / Climbing
