Staff Accountant

Johnson Service Group is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including account reconciliations, payroll tax reporting, commission and income reporting, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with Excel, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

This position is paying $30/hr to $32/hr and will be located in our company headquarters in Westmont, IL.Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

Assist senior accountant with month end closing procedures, journal entries, and financial reporting.

Reconcile and file payroll tax amounts for weekly, monthly and quarterly liabilities.

Calculate and distribute monthly commission reports for production staff

Reconciliation and distribution of weekly income reports to VPsEnsure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards

Assist with other accounting tasks as assigned by supervisor

Staff Accountant

Qualifications:

1-3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a Staff Accountant role or similar

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
