The Site Safety Specialist will work closely with Safety Leadership, project teams, craft professionals, subcontractors, and client representatives to reinforce safety expectations and promote a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Safety Leadership in implementing site-specific safety programs
- Perform daily field safety observations and document findings
- Assist with monitoring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and OSHA regulations
- Participate in job hazard analyses, pre-task planning, and safety briefings
- Support safety orientations and onboarding for new hires
- Track and coordinate required safety training and certifications
- Maintain safety documentation, including permits, inspection logs, and reports
- Assist with incident response, investigations, and follow-up documentation
- Participate in project start-up meetings and reinforce safety expectations in the field
- Monitor housekeeping, PPE usage, and general site conditions
- Help maintain safety boards, signage, and communication materials
- Interface professionally with subcontractors and client safety representatives
- Support mentoring and coaching of craft personnel under direction of safety leadership
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- 2+ years of experience in construction, safety, or a related field preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Basic knowledge of OSHA construction standards preferred
- Strong interest in construction safety, especially large-scale or mechanical environments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability project setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Comfortable using tablets and mobile field technology
- Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments
- Willingness to travel or relocate based on project needs
