Industry Focus: Commercial / Industrial Electrical Construction
Location: Westmont, IL
The team is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our Westmont, IL team. You'll work on commercial, industrial, mission‑critical and data center projects while partnering directly with project management, vendors, subcontractors and field teams
Are you an Electrical Estimator who knows how to build a commercial electrical estimate from drawings, solicit pricing, and turn around competitive bids?
What You’ll Do- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to define complete electrical scope.
- Develop detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, permits, overhead, and related project costs.
- Prepare accurate, competitive bid proposals for commercial, industrial, mission‑critical, and data center projects.
- Break large bids into work packages and coordinate estimating efforts with junior and remote estimators.
- Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, risks, value-engineering opportunities, and pricing strategies.
- Use Con Est, Accubid, or comparable estimating software, along with Excel, to produce timely, high-quality proposals.
- Mentor junior estimators and help improve estimating processes, consistency, and team capability.
- Partner with project managers, field teams, clients, and suppliers; visit jobsites as needed.
- 3+ years of electrical estimating experience within commercial and industrial new construction.
- Strong background estimating power distribution, lighting, and commercial/industrial electrical systems.
- Experience supporting large, complex bids and collaborating across estimating and operations teams.
- Proficiency with electrical estimating software; while Accubid or comparable platforms are also considered.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, codes, safety requirements, and bid documents.
- Strong conceptual estimating, scope development, pricing, and value-engineering skills.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
