Project Checker - Prestress

We are seeking a Project Checker for County Prestress & Precast, LLC in Westmont, IL.

The Project Checker will provide drawing and detail checking. They also provide assistance to Project Managers and Project Coordinators as required or requested.

Job Duties:

* Review estimate, contract, and contract documents (drawings, specifications, addenda, etc.) to become familiar with project.

* Check erection drawings and piece tickets against contract documents, approval drawings and "mark-ups."

* Suggest or modify detail to reduce costs to County Prestress, owner, and/or erector

* Compare actual project being drawn with estimate at bid sheet and alert Project Manager/Engineer and Estimator of quantity or material deviations.

* Ensure piece drawings are available a minimum of two days prior to their production dates.

* Ensure embed plates and loose material are checked well before they required so material can be fabricated, assembled, and delivered.

* Stay in continual contact with Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and Project Scheduler in order to meet erection and production schedules.

* Responsible for checking dimensions and scope of work of drawings & details prepare by others.

* Work closely with Project Engineers and Project Coordinators during development of erection drawings and piece tickets.

* Work with all other County Prestress departments to promote a strong working relationship.

* Develop and maintain relationships with external engineers, architects, contractors as required.

Experience &

Qualifications:

* Education - AutoCAD or Revit certification, or Autodesk certified.

* Bachelor's or Associates degree.

* Knowledge and Skills - Detailed experience in precast concrete drafting and detailing. Extensive ability to ready and comprehend contract drawings.

* Previous Experience - Minimum of 5 years of related experience in prestress.

* Additional Skills - Knowledge of Lec Wall would be a plus.
