Responsibilities
Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise appropriately.Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take necessary actions.Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.Understand store layout to locate products for customers.Stay updated with current and upcoming promotions and ads.Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.Monitor inventory levels and note discrepancies.Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.Follow all food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.Report customer or employee accidents promptly.Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications Minimum Position Qualifications
- Customer Service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
