About the Role
Seven Resourcing are recruiting an Early Years Nursery Worker to support the delivery of high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5 years within a local authority nursery setting in Weston-super-Mare.
This role sits at Level 4 (JG4) and is ideal for an experienced early years professional who is passionate about supporting children's development in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. You will work as part of a dedicated nursery team, building strong partnerships with parents and carers, and taking the lead in a specific area of learning and development across the nursery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, providing engaging, creative, and inclusive learning opportunities.
- Organise, prepare, and facilitate age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities to support children's learning and development.
- Act as a Keyworker to a group of children under the guidance of the Room Lead, maintaining strong communication with parents and carers.
- Observe, assess, and record children's learning and development, identifying next steps and contributing to individual progress plans (IPPs).
- Take the lead in a designated area of nursery provision, such as health and safety or a specific area of learning and development.
- Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in line with statutory requirements, policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Promote the highest standards of physical and emotional care, health and safety, and personal and food hygiene at all times.
- Contribute to quality improvement within the setting through reflective practice and ongoing evaluation.
- Actively promote safeguarding, positive behaviour, equality of opportunity, and British Values across the nursery.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies involved with children and families as part of a multi-disciplinary approach.
- Attend staff meetings, training, CPD sessions, and nursery or family events as required, including occasional commitments outside normal working hours.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Relevant Level 3 Childcare/Early Years qualification (preferred).
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent.
- Experience working with children aged 0-5 and their families.
- Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, including EYFS, SEND, Prevent Duty, and safeguarding frameworks.
- Ability to observe, assess, and document children's learning and development accurately.
- Confident using technology such as computers, tablets, and cameras.
- Ability to work independently using initiative, as well as collaboratively within a dynamic team.
