Job Description:

Weston Public Schools Substitute Para educator - Per Diem

Starting Date:
Immediate

Salary: $16.35 per hour

Position Overview:

Substitute para educators play a vital role in supporting students and maintaining continuity in the classroom or other learning environments when regular staff are absent. Whether serving on a daily or long-term basis, substitutes assist with instruction, supervision, and student engagement, ensuring a safe, supportive, and productive school environment.

Responsibilities:

* Assist students with learning activities, reinforcing instruction provided by the classroom teacher.

* Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.

* Provide individualized or small-group support as directed by classroom teachers or special education staff.

* Assist with classroom management and help maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.

* Monitor and support student safety and adherence to school policies.

* Uphold computer technology acceptable-use policies.

* Follow building procedures and schedules.

* Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and support staff regarding student progress and any relevant observations.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.

* Experience working with children in an educational or support setting preferred.

* Demonstrated commitment to supporting the academic, social, and personal growth of students.

* Flexibility in work assignments and willingness to support the safe and effective operation of the school.

* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff.

* Strong oral and written communication skills.

* Preference given to candidates who are available at least one full day per week and can commit to full-day assignments.
