Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM with liver transplant call responsibilities

• Guaranteed 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 hour shifts

• Required to take 1 call shift per week and 2 twelve-hour weekend shifts per month

• Must have strong liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant experience with actual organ implantation, not just harvesting

• Must be proficient in MISONIX/CUSA equipment

• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required

• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in 18-room operating suite

• Participate in training of students and new staff as this is a teaching facility

• Complete 40 hours of orientation including EKG and pharmacy testing with maximum 2 attempts each

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (must have at time of submission), NIHSS (must obtain prior to start)

• Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant or OR nursing experience required

• Must be nicotine-free with negative 10-panel plus nicotine drug screen required

• Complete non-billable modules averaging 6-15 hours pre-start and annually

• Wear ceil blue scrubs and use EPIC charting system

• All requested time off must be submitted at initial application

The facility maintains Magnet status and provides advanced surgical services with a daily census of 55-60 patients. The organization emphasizes excellence in patient care and maintains strict compliance standards including a smoke-free environment and comprehensive orientation programs for all nursing staff.
