Job Description:

This C++ Software Engineer shall develop foundational software components for our Robotics and Enabling Technology applications. The scope of the work includes research, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software components in the context of our clinical application architectures. The software components are either shared across multiple applications or specific to Total Hip and Total Knee surgery applications. This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job requires an understanding and application of procedures and concepts of one's own discipline. The job requires attention to detail in making evaluative judgments based on the analysis of factual information. Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities. Determines systems software design requirements. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures. Develop source code for shared biomechanics and planning components that integrate into the established architectures of pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative clinical applications.

Participate in SDLC activities for the components, including code review, documentation, integration, testing, defect management, and code analysis. Components are expected to be feature complete such that they meet requirements and/or design specifications.

Qualifications:

This job typically requires a degree or equivalent amount of practical knowledge gained through experience and a minimum of 2 or more years of experience. Solid background working with C++ and Qt in a Linux environment. Experience working with 3D geometry and image processing algorithms involving complex 3D calculations.

Experience with developing surgical planning systems is desired. Proficiency with integrated development environments (IDEs) and build systems, with minimal supervision. Experience working with revision control systems and following CI/CD development practices. Familiarity with unit testing as part of the development workflow.
