Summary
Responsibilities/projects may include, but are not limited to:
- As a member of the Center for Inclusive Excellence (CIE), you will gain exposure to and familiarity with CIE initiatives, planning and research and data analysis at Regis College. In doing so you will develop transferrable skills in areas such as strategic planning, problem-solving, project management, program development and data analysis as it relates to the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized populations.
- This position involves working with the Campus Pride Index Taskforce to develop an assessment of LGBTQ+ experiences at Regis College, and current student supports in relation to the LGBTQ+ community, collaborative coordination and/or facilitation of programs (OUTober, Trans Day of Remembrance, Campus Pride month, PRIDE, etc.), assistance with development of internal documents, and diversity, inclusion and equity related data. CIE will also work to align the experience with the interests and skills of the Graduate Intern in a manner that fits the Centers goals.
- The Graduate Intern will serve as the center liaison for the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) student organization.
- The Graduate Intern for LGBTQ+ Initiatives will regularly meet one-on-one with the VP for Inclusive Excellence/CDO, attend CIE staff meetings, and participate in other relevant meetings. The Grad Intern can expect to develop learning outcomes, receive coaching in higher education administrative work and engage in other campus wide professional development opportunities.

The graduate intern is required to live on campus as part of the position. As a live-in staff member, the graduate intern would have several responsibilities in exchange for room and board:
- Train in incident management and crisis protocol with the Office of Residence Life.
- Serve as a member of the Professional Staff On-Duty (PSOD) rotation. Rotation consistency is variable and agreed upon at the beginning of each semester.
Responsibilities include: - Respond to on-campus issues or concerns as they arise, facilitate response with appropriate parties, serve as support staff to resident assistants and Campus Police wherever needed, and submit incident reports when needed.
- Communicate with appropriate campus offices regarding the welfare of residents.
- Complete and distribute duty log by 9am for weekday duties.
- Participate in regular Residence Life meetings, including Tuesday morning staff meetings and any trainings related to on-call policies or procedures.
