Position OverviewThe Weston Public Schools is seeking a Kindergarten Instructional Aide for Woodland Elementary School. This part‑time role requires approximately 5.5 hours per day when school is in session and reports to the Building Principal. Candidates should be inspired by our mission to educate and empower all students to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Embrace the diversity of the Weston Public Schools by fostering an environment of respect and inclusion.
- Complete daily clerical tasks: attendance slips, bussing assignments, after‑school destination forms, book orders, photocopying, and other classroom organizational duties.
- Prepare instructional materials and conduct instructional groups for student use.
- Implement the teacher’s instructional plan as appropriate.
- Implement interventions, including academic, behavioral, and special‑needs interventions and accommodations.
- Attend IEP meetings and/or parent conferences when requested.
- Provide supervision for kindergarten students in the lunchroom, on the playground, on bus lines, on field trips, and other appropriate times.
- Substitute for the classroom teacher when absent for up to a full day.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Building Principal or designee.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working with students with special needs strongly preferred.
- Competent with technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom.
A Kindergarten Instructional Aide earns between $23.76 and $25.55 per hour, depending on relevant experience. The district offers a comprehensive benefits package, including subsidized health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and participation in the Middlesex County Retirement System.
