  • Lead and manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion in accordance with GAAP.
  • Own the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of financial results and effectively analyze and explain balance sheet and P&L activity, trends, and variances.
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts, including cash, are accurately reconciled and appropriately supported.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure transactions are properly recorded, classified, and supported.
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting function, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Staff Accounting activities, while remaining hands-on when needed.
  • Maintain visibility into financial activity throughout the month, including weekly sales, receivables, collections, and other key business activities impacting financial results.
  • Support recurring weekly and monthly financial reporting requirements, including timely reporting to banking partners and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate annual audit preparation and work directly with external auditors to provide requested schedules, reconciliations, documentation, and supporting information.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax schedules and supporting documentation for external tax providers.
  • Partner closely with the CFO and FP&A function to ensure historical financial results and accounting data are accurate, complete, and well understood.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and other departments to understand business activity, resolve accounting questions, and ensure transactions are appropriately reflected in the financial statements.
  • Support the accounting integration of newly acquired businesses and brands, including establishing accurate financial records, reporting processes, and opening balances.
  • Assist with purchase accounting and other acquisition-related accounting matters as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, document, and streamline accounting processes, controls, and reporting as the organization continues to scale.

  • Strong understanding of the monthly close process, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and confidently discuss balance sheet and income statement activity.
  • Experience with Net Suite is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with evolving processes and priorities.
  • Comfortable working within a lean accounting team and balancing both leadership responsibilities and hands-on accounting work.
