Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing luxury residential and construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional seeking hands-on experience in high-end construction within a collaborative, quality-driven environment.

Responsibilities

* Assist in managing multiple residential construction projects simultaneously.

* Support scheduling, budgeting, and procurement processes.

* Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and clients.

* Help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

* Maintain project documentation including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.

* Track project progress, costs, and timelines.

* Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and status reports.

* Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality of workmanship.

* Assist in resolving field issues and coordinating with site supervisors.

* Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.

* Support communication between clients, architects, and internal teams.

* Help maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness and professionalism.

Essential Skills

* Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).

* 1-3 years of experience in construction or project coordination (residential experience preferred).

* Strong organizational and time-management skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction/project management software is a plus.

* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a split time between the office in Fairfield (Southport) and site visits throughout Fairfield County to monitor progress and quality of workmanship. The company offers a collaborative, craftsmanship-focused culture with mentorship from experienced builders and project managers. APMs work as true co-managers, taking on major scopes traditionally reserved for full Project Managers, providing accelerated exposure and real responsibility with a clear path to becoming a Project Manager.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westport, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
