Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role works closely with leadership to develop and implement accounting functions, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic financial insights. The position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, developing internal controls, and mentoring accounting staff.
Essential Functions
+ Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.
+ Conduct financial and variance analyses to support decision-making and organizational performance.
+ Oversee general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
+ Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
+ Ensure compliance with tax regulations; assist with preparation and filing of income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax returns; coordinate with external tax advisors.
+ Assist with external audit preparations and ensure accurate presentation of financial statements.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
+ Lead, mentor, and support accounting team members, including involvement in hiring, training, and performance reviews.
+ Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
+ Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations and investments.
+ Stay current with GAAP and other regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
+ Participate in monthly financial reviews with management by analyzing and interpreting financial results.
+ Assist in preparing monthly financial reporting packages for Senior leadership.
+ Support external audit requests and other corporate reporting requirements.
+ Contribute to the development, documentation, and maintenance of policies and procedures related to assigned responsibilities.
+ Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
+ Contribute to automation initiatives using tools such as Vena, Power Automate, Power BI, Alteryx, or Excel macros to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes.
Education, Experience & Certifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Advanced degree or certifications (MBA, CPA, CA) preferred but not required.
+ Several years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
+ Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi or other ERP systems, Flo Qast, and Microsoft Excel.
+
Experience with data automation and analytics tools (e.g., Vena, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Python) preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
+ Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
+ Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting findings to non-financial stakeholders.
+ High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
+ Leadership abilities, including team supervision and mentoring experience.
+ High ethical standards and integrity when working with financial information.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
