St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. Job SummaryThe Patient Care Administrative Nurse Supervisor is an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) and is responsible for supervising and monitoring the Nursing department(s) on an assigned shift in accordance with nursing standards and practices as well as current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations. This position ensures the appropriate delivery of direct and indirect patient care via the utilization of the Nursing Process and creates a positive environment for the professional practice of nursing (RN).
In addition, this position ensures activities foster continuous quality improvement to enhance patient care outcomes. This position also ensures patient flow throughout the organization. This position provides leadership for multiple hospital departments in the absence of the RN unit manager, director, or administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
- 3 years of acute Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Nursing or Supervisory/Leadership experience required
- Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut required
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
